The instrument is powered by an electromagnetic drive which has no rotating parts, making it maintenance free and extremely quiet in operation. The unit has been designed for user friendly operation. The locomotor activity can be easily measured using SWIMMING TEST APPARATUS which consists of clear perspex rotating drum with ribs in a clear perspex tank and Digital counter with resetting facility to count the activity of the animal.
